Auger Boring can be used for the installation of casing pipe for gas, water, cable and sewer pipeline installations.

Generally Auger Boring is best applied in soft soils with no or low ground water head.

The systems are non-steerable or have very limited steering capability, so may not be suitable for applications in which line and level accuracy is required. Auger Boring does also require sufficient space to install the launch pit and boring machine on at least one side of the route being bored.
